The Griffith park is located at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains, in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. One of the most popular hiking spots near Los Angeles and certainly one of our favorites too. The park is one of the largest of North America covering 4,310 acres (1,740 ha) of land. By its immense size, the park has miles and miles of trails that crisscross each other and many trail head/end. Because of this, many people feel intimidated to take on this monster. We have hiked this park day and night and know 90% if it like the back of our hand. Below you'll find the information needed to follow our hike...
For this particular hike we headed to the Griffith park around 5:00am. We got there just before 6:00am and parked across The Greek Theatre (2700 North Vermont Avenue Los Angeles, California 90027) since that's where the trail head/end is located at.

We took the trail and started hiking up the mountain while it was dark still. As we kept walking, the sun started to creep in dimmed by the heavy fog. The fog descending from the top of the mountain made the scenario a little bit creepy but yet breathtaking.
(Below You'll find the route we took to get to the highest point of the park. Also, The points where we took pictures with the gallery below.)

When we got to the top, everyone was astound by the sight when the clouds dropped below us and transported us to a cloud world where only the picks of the hills poke thru the clouds. A few minutes after this, a gentleman praying just aside from us and all the hikers that gather at the top of Griffith got up and pull a blowing horn from a bag and started blowing on it. His potent horn broke the silence throughout the hills.

Everyone there despite of their background, race, or religion was super respectful and went into a self meditation. After a few minutes of stillness, everyone came back to reality and went on their way. We stood there at the highest point of Griffith park for about 20-25 minutes until the clouds/fog disappeared and the sun started shining down on a very cloud morning. Nonetheless to say a picture is worth 1000 words, Valeria manage to capture some of that morning magic on the top of Griffith.
