SUN, RUM AND CIGARS TO PARADISE

Puerto Rico "The Enchanted Island" as we heard on many songs, movies and stories from people who visit this place. This is the story of how this trip came to realization. For this trip we had absolutely zero planning. Joel, my borinquen friend and band-mate went home to Puerto Rico for a few months and May (2010) was at the tail end of his visit. Back in Los Angeles, I was recording the guitars tracks for our debut album and on Friday night during one of our phone conversations regarding the recording, Joel invited Val and I to go visit him in Puerto Rico so he can show us around the island before he had to come back to L.A. We jokingly said "Sure, we'll see you tomorrow in Old San Juan" and started saying how we were going to book them flights last minute and plan a whole 10 days of vacations in one day, but the more we joked about it the more we realize that it was totally possible. So, that Friday night we went online checkout all the possible websites and airlines for the cheapest flights and since we were going to stay at my friends house we didn't need a hotel. Expedia had a package that included flights, hotel and car rental that was very cheap and affordable. On Sunday we were off to Puerto Rico.
